Please try again later. Ok so I am not like, -the- most hardcore gamer in the world well my xbl score is 32, so I'm no slouch either and FPS's usually kind of bore me, but I love zombies, I love the Walking Dead, and I hate games that aren't -fun-.

Like, I found Dead Space 2 to be tedious, it made you work for everything and there was no real fun to it. It was pretty, but painful, like a bad date. The Walking Dead Survival Instinct is not the best game in the world, it's not gonna win any awards for innovation or graphics, but it's fun and it's obviously totally geared toward fans of the show. Honestly a lot of the reviews I've seen on youtube or kotaku who lost all credibility when they said if you wanted a good Southern Zombie game to play L4D2 which is awful as we all know just seemed like they were aiming for all the low hanging fruit they could find.

Yeah this game is a cheapish TV tie-in that rests on its laurels, but Chances of getting a game on par with Bioshock or Limbo out of an existing IP is pretty unrealistic IMO, and I feel like a lot of people are hating on this specifically because this is -the- game to hate on this season. Like people complaining about the grapple mode, considering this is essentially a stealth game, you're not really SUPPOSED to get into the grapple sequences, let along enjoy them.

So here's my breakdown: 1 graphics - eh, better than Left 4 Dead but does look like early console titles 2 voice acting - sparse but quite good 3 plot - thin but ties into the show and fleshes out the relationship between the dixon bros 4 gameplay - pretty simplistic with a range of melee or ranged weapons that are pretty easy to cycle through.

Also the zombies models are lacking as there seem to be maybe 10 unique zombies not that this isn't also the case in L4D 6 length- it's pretty short but offers rewards for replay.

You have to figure out who to keep, how to keep them alive, and how to ration out supplies. It's not an overly complex game, but again it's enjoyable if you want to spent time shredding zombies up with a machete or crossbow. For real, I think this game is unfairly maligned because I feel like the wrong audience is reviewing it. Hardcore gamers who want up date games that push their console to the limit are not going to enjoy this. Norman Reedus fangirls and fans of the show are going to enjoy it because it provides backstory and fairy simplistic fighting mechanics making it easy to play regardless of where you fall on the gamer spectrum unless you only play zynga games or some nonsense.

So yeah, I went into this with suuuuuuuper low expectations and was pleasantly surprised since I was expecting something super glitchy i haven't run into any really massive bugs and awful, and it's just a pretty simple game where you run around either hiding from or slashing zombies. But I do feel that this is really made for the fans of the series.

This game is much better than I had expected. It's hard enough and entertaining enough to keep you wanting to retry a failed mission.

The replay value is very high as you have alternate paths to choose from along your main route during the game. I played it all the way through 4 times back to back and still get the urge to replay it.

Very good game. When season 6 of the show recently ended I decided to pick this game up to tide me over until season 7 starts. I am not a hardcore gamer by any means but I do know a fun game when I see one. If you are expecting a game like Left 4 Dead you will be dissapointed because the zombies in this game move nowhere near as fast thank God.

The main factor in buying this game for me was the voice work of Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker. The game starts you off playing Daryl's father at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. Each mission gives you the choice of going to one of two locations and how you get there.

Backroads, surface streets and highways all have their advantages and disadvantages. This gives the game good replay value because once you complete it you can play it again and go to those locations you passed up before. Along the way you meet other survivors and can make them part of your group. From time to time you change vehicles, some with better gas mileage than others and more room to hold the items you scavenge along the way like weapons,ammo, etc. If you die during a mission you will not have to replay the level but you will have to start from your last checkpoint.

You will not lose any items you've accumulated either. One cheat gives you Dary's crossbow at the beginning of the game. Normally you would have to be about two-thirds into the game before you acquire it. Another cheat gives you unlimited ammo for your weapons. There are a total of 10 cheats you can unlock and if you go to the menu under extras the game will tell you what you have to do to unlock each one. For example one cheat requires you to keep a certain person in your group until the end of the game.

There is one cheat that will not unlock until you have unlocked the other 9. If you have trouble finding all of the collectibles there are youtube videos that will show you where they all are.

The thing that surprised me about this game is that there are no difficulty settings. There is no easy, medium or hard. I guess you could say that the game starts you off somewhere in between easy and medium but each subsequent play-through gets a little bit harder.

The second time I played the game I noticed there were a few more walkers in a given room or situation than the time before and their ability to detect you from longer distances will become more acute.

I've seen the complaints about how short this game is That is total BS. The first time will take you longer than 6 hours because you have so much to explore and the side missions will keep you busy. If you ignore the side missions and don't explore for supplies well hell yeah you can beat the game quickly but then whats the point of playing if you are going to do that?

I've played the game almost a dozen times now and the first town that you come to for supplies and gas takes me about 30 minutes to do in a orderly fashion. If I didn't stop to pick up ammo and supplies and do the side missions it would be a 10 minute level and where's the fun in that? Bottom line is that if you don't expect this game to be another Halo or Call Of Duty then you should be fine with it.

To help The Walking Dead game feel more like the comic series that is it based off of, Telltale has chose to use a cartoon, cell-shaded art style as well as releasing the game in five episodes.

Both of these details definitely helped to make The Walking Dead feel like you're playing an interactive comic book. The Walking Dead focuses around dialog choices. Players are given a limited amount of time to choose between several dialogs choices, similar to Mass Effect's dialog system, except Mass Effect doesn't have a time limit. By introducing a time limit, players feel a sense of urgency and will hopefully answer more candidly.

The Walking Dead allows you to portray the main character, Lee Everett, as a misunderstood or amoral man. There are also quick time events throughout the game that add to the tension.

The Walking Dead includes sequences where you have to rapidly tap a button to fight off an enemy as well as sequences where you have to quickly take down zombies by clicking on them. The Walking Dead was never made to be a shooter so some of the gun play and even walking around featured some clunky controls when playing with a mouse and keyboard.

The story in The Walking Dead is absolutely engrossing, bolstered by great voice acting and character models. While the graphics in The Walking Dead aren't the most advanced, its cell shaded art style brings the comic book characters to life with vivid colors and hard brush strokes.

You really care about each of the characters in your group. There are also some great villains in the game that do some shocking things. Since there are so many choices a player can make in The Walking Dead, your friends playing the same game will most likely have different stories than you. This gives The Walking Dead some stellar replay value. At the end of each episode, you're given a report on how your choices coincide with other Walking Dead players.

The story builds up to a nail-biting climax , albeit a short one. Since The Walking Dead is so good at making you care for the characters in your group, finding out the fate of Clementine and Lee will leave you breathless. Some players have complained about the ending but I think it was beautifully done and goes along with the themes presented in the game. TellTale Games has done right by The Walking Dead franchise with an engrossing storyline that provides a parallel to the comic. This game is a terrific value and is one of the best games of The Walking Dead is an awesome game that you should give a try..

I thought it was an amazing game and it showed us the personalities of each of the characters, especially Clementine and Lee. I love how they give us choices and the rest of the game depends on what we choose. Great game. Ive seen people play this game before and im in love with it! Pros: Storyline Graphics Cons: Graphics.
